A few weeks ago I got myself a white Eee PC 900 mini laptop computer.

The first thing I did was clean up the Windows install and generally get it running smoothly.

The second thing I did was to hit eBay for a few accessories to go with it. Specifically a leather case, 2 GB of RAM, a Logitech VX Nano Wireless Mouse and an SDHC Card.

Today I would like to review the Brown “PDair” Leather-style case that arrived yesterday.

Unboxing

I must admit I was surprised here, usually buying accessories from eBay means cheap junk that is not worth the postage paid, this is NOT the case. Everything from the box to the padding to the item itself looks and feels of quality.

Usage

I installed a matching brown “slim” Windows XP theme and overall I have to admit that my Eee PC setup does look very nice indeed.

Size

My entire Eee PC and leather case are almost exactly the same size as an ‘executive’ diary that I use. They go nicely together and fit well together in a bag or briefcase. In fact a few people have mistaken my Eee PC in the case as a diary and have been pleasantly surprised when they discovered a laptop inside.

What is good about it?

• Two toned
  brown vinyl/leather material.
  
• All the stitching feels to be of high quality, I an not at all worried that this case will come undone.
  
• Magnetic latch
  
• Slots for 4x SD Cards
  
• Business card slot.
  
• Holes for speakers,
• Holes for all ports, there is no reason to remove the Eee PC from the case, EVER.
  

What leaves more to be desired?

• The hinge corners are not well protected, this is always a big thing to worry about when dropping a laptop.
  
• The bottom side of the case is not really contoured to match the shape of the bottom of the Eee around the feet on either side of the battery, I have a feeling that the leather/vinyl will fit the shape better after a few weeks of use.
  

Overall Impression

I have to say that I am very happy with the quality, style, and functionality and price of this case and would recommend this case to anyone. As well as the brown colour I have it is also available in a darker brown, black and two shades of red.

I am located in Australia and purchased my case from the eBay seller “Siemshop” who seems to be located in Hong Kong the case took about two weeks to arrive at my door.

Side note

I wonder if there is enough spare room at the back of the device for an aftermarket 7800mAh Mugen Power Battery. I have compared a lot of photos and dare say it will fit. I just ordered one so when it turns up I will find out and report back.
